^^^Wow, that is optimistic. Anything closer than the two Top 20 teams we have already played, and I will be a proud Mustang. A little disappointed in the D last weekend.

UCF is the best offense that we have played to this point. Their defense isn't quite to the TCU/Michigan level, but it isn't bad.

Two things to note about UCF offensively. First, they will come out and throw the ball. They throw first and Milton will run when the protection or pass plays break down. But they like to throw early and put a team away as quickly as possible, and the game up with a wide spread. Once they get the passing game going, they pound teams with the running game.

Second, they are aggressive with their throws. He hasn't been as accurate this year, and has thrown some interceptions. But they will throw the ball down the field. It isn't a bunch of screens - they want to open the field as deep and wide as possible and get very talented players in space.

This is going to go one of two extremes. Either Milton gets hot early, they score early and put a lot of pressure on our offense, and the game gets out of hand in the first half. Or, Kane comes up with some scheme stuff that allow us to slow them down significantly..

When they get a lead, they tend to pound the ball a bit in the second half. So, they don't run up the score.

Defensively, they don't have a good running defense. They have given up a decent amount of yards on the ground, which is odd since they are ahead so often.

Theoretically, if we can scheme up, we could slow them down and ball control them on offense.

If we hold them under 40 and score more than 20, that would be a pretty big accomplishment. However, I see this as a 45-17 type of game.

But it will be competitive.

And we go into the bye week feeling pretty good with the biggest game to date coming up. The Tulane game will decide our bowl fate IMHO.

Florida directional school comes out over confident. They play sloppy on offense and we run back interception and punt return for TDs. They score late in the game to almost tie us but miss extra point. Upset of the weekend.

Pretty sad that SMU is 1-7 all-time against UCF but pretty typical of our record against almost all the larger public schools we've played against down through the years. Shaping up as a more lopsided series than any we've had with our former SWC foes. I can only hope we return to playing competitive football at some point in my lifetime.
