TulaneHere I was, getting all excited to play an important game after a bye week ... only to realize that Tulane also is coming off a bye. Based on the way it ended last year against them, Tulane is going to do everything imaginable (trick plays, etc.) to win.
Re: TulaneTulane has a very respectable team. This will be a very tough game to win. Much depends on how many injured players SMU can return to the field.
Re: TulaneI'm still waiting for this team to show me they can win a road game against a competitive opponent, which Tulane has demonstrated they are. I will have hope for the rest of this season if we can win this game but I still think this year's team does well to go 4-8 and I'm thinking Tulane wins this one something like 34-24. Hope I'm wrong.
Re: TulaneI agree this will be an extraordinarily difficult game. They open as 7 point favorites. I think that’s a fair assessment as I think and hope we get to a winning start but collapse in the 4th quarter by losing by a TD. We will see. I would have a lot more optimism if our offense would show some chemistry.

Re: TulaneWith a week off, I hope Wyatt and Hayes are 100 percent. Tulane's top receiver (#3) is a stud
Re: TulaneWe need everyone healthy. They have played just as difficult a schedule as we have, and their red zone efficiency on both sides of the ball as well as special teams defense is the difference. 34-24.
Re: Tulane38-21 SMU
Re: TulaneThis is a must win for us. If we want any chance at a bowl game, we need to win this one. We can only afford two more losses the entire rest of the year. And we have Memphis/Houston/Cincy/Tulsa still in front of us. None of those games will be a cake walk.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: TulaneMust win for both SMU and Tulane if either team wants to go to a bowl game this year...just like last year and I would have to say advantage = home team. This would be another impressive win for Sonny (I count Navy as another) to offset that horrendous opener in Denton
Re: Tulane
The loss to a 6 - 1 team that has beaten a P5 school and lost by 2 points to the team that embarrassed us in a bowl last year, I would not consider horrendous at this point.
Re: Tulane
Doesn't matter, losing to a community college is embarrassing. ![]() Insert "this is fine" GIF
Re: Tulane
Horrendous from the standpoint that we weren't even competitive. Not arguing that they (UNT) weren't the better team this year. I hope they run the table and win their conference and their coach gets hired away from them. Don't want UNT to leave us in their dust as so many others have.
Re: TulaneSpeaking of Tulane, they've done a tremendous job of rebounding from Katrina. Last year, they had an acceptance rate of only 17% with an average ACT of 32.
https://admission.tulane.edu/apply/getting-into-tulane That said, their stadium is very small.
Re: Tulane
Stadium is small but fits them well. Ford is more than SMU needs in terms of seating capacity.
Re: TulaneI still have a terrible taste in my mouth for the trip down to see them beat us on the last minute during June’s time. Ruined an otherwise nice weekend in N.O.
Long live Inez Perez!
