Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrestedOur players just don't pay $50 hookers
tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrestedThe tcu coaches ask him about his situation in NM and the kid lied and said everything was good. So that’s all it took to convince the coaches everything was good. Yeah, right
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrestedPatterson should be fired for this, but he won't be.
Kind of a Baylor starter kit though. An object at rest cannot be stopped!
Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrested
Coaches and staffs have no business doing any investigation beyond initial inquiry. It is this fiction of responsibility that constantly gets programs in trouble as coaches will always do the wrong thing. Investigation is the responsibility of the AD referring it to the university and should be based on university standards set for all students ( honor code ) and no exceptions for athletes and/or appropriate law enforcement authorities. Think Ohio State, Penn State and Baylor as prime examples of where coaches sought to cover up and take on investigations which are far beyond their scope of responsibility or competence. Recall at Penn State the University President told the school's honor code and enforcement chief that Paterno is in a better position to discipline and handle all football player issues and they should not be referred to the university. Chief resigned making a public protest and the Board did not even make any inquiry as to what might be the issue. NCAA used this as a prime example of lack of institutional control. The Turpin matter should not have been in the hands of Patterson and immediately referred to the appropriate university student review unit.

I am sure Larry Brown agrees with you. Shake It Off Moody
Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrestedTCU chancellor doesn’t rule out discipline
against Patterson after Turpin incident https://www.star-telegram.com/sports/sp ... 99545.html Patterson looks scared....he knows he had a guy playing for him with an out of state warrant for his arrest.....but Patterson is pretending to be Sargent Schultz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34ag4nkSh7Q C-ya @ Milos!
Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrestedPut the towel girl on speed dial.
Patterson is sweating like a prostitute on the front row of the church Sunday morning....
Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrestedNot into anyone's pain but I did find this a little humorous.
“I went to that website (rapssheets.org) myself and when I printed out the report, only one page of four printed,”
Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrestedAny chance they will have to forfeit our game, which might make us Bowl Eigible at the end of season if we don't do it on our own?
Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrestedNo - but in retrospect I'm pretty sure this is what happened to the 14 Commandments
Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrestedI hate Fatterson as much as anyone but he shouldn't be fired over this.
Sounds like he only had partial information relative to the New Mexico incident. He kicked Turpin off the team and the kid just cost himself millions of dollars. Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrestedAnyone else think its odd that a warrant was issued in July for a Div 1 Football player and he was never picked up? Doesn't the NM task force get the big 12 schedule/games?
And why didn't we tip them off prior to our game? And who is checking opponents rosters going forward for players with outstanding warrants?
Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrestedThat article had a whole lot of excuses for why certain people shouldn't be blamed for not knowing anything and not a lot of concern for the risk they subjected potential victims to.
Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrested
Patterson: "How'd your court date go?" Turpin: "Great, Coach!" Due diligence complete. I am a high school teacher and I can receive a misdemeanor for not reporting suspected or alleged child abuse. I'm sorry but not sorry for suggesting that GP apologize to the abused women for not disciplining his player if he suspected or received hints of domestic abuse and this player continued to abuse other women. I don't care who handles the official investigation; an apology is nothing compared to what I would face if I were a high school coach continuing to play a player suspected of abusing women, and it turned out he was abusing even more women all the while I was playing him.
Re: tcu return specialist KaVontae Turpin arrestedTCU president mentions in the FWST article that "18 year olds" make mistakes or some blather...Turpin is not 18, and due diligence falls on the University, AD, and HFC in that order. The chain of communication, both up and down, didn't happen.
Patterson will be given a 15 minute timeout in the corner. If TCU played an ineligible player (unlikely), this could have bigger ramifications. Not likely... stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
