Re: SMU vs Memphis predictions
Do you think we'll see some of Brown, being a more mobile quarterback, and Memphis being terrible against the run?
Re: SMU vs Memphis predictions
Why would we put Brown out there if Hicks plays the way he has the last two weeks? He's the guy, no question. Aside from a play or two with Brown as a change of pace (maybe), why mess with what works?
Re: SMU vs Memphis predictions
Lately Brown has not been an effective runner (lost the ball a couple of times). I think we would see him only with a big lead at the end of the game to protect from Hicks being hurt. So no Brown likely.

Brown has never been a runner in his entire football career-I don't think he had 100 yards of rushing in any year of his high school career either-he played 3.1 years too. That's not his bag- man. I think its type casting. He's more mobile and strong than fast but he's fumbled 2-3 times on runs-I think we recovered though

I agree with you based on high school stats, but they definitely had him running more zone read in practice than Ben. Could be more to do with his newness at the college level than anything else though.

I’m glad someone gets it. I remember reading his scout profile and seeing he ran a 4.7 but everyone is on here talking about how the ΓÇ£mobileΓÇ¥ qb as if he were the second coming of Matt Davis. He is slightly more mobile than hicks and stronger. I think using the read option with him Is more to give him a Nother play in his arsenal that he can use since he isn’t as much of a threat to throw the ball than it is because he is a ΓÇ£runningΓÇ¥ qb. He is only mobile in the relative sense.
I honestly haven’t been too impressed with his running. That read option only pops off about 5 yards every now and then when he keeps it. But I suppose it frees up a little room for the back if he decides not to pull it and run with it
Re: SMU vs Memphis predictions
i'm strangely confident about this game. not a good sign. i'm never confident about our games.
Re: SMU vs Memphis predictions
^^^Me, too. I say SMU by 10. Just a feeling that these coaches and these kids will be and stay focused and beat the 2nd most overrated team (behind USF) in the Conference.

Didn't have too much speed for Navy or Tulane.
I would be shocked if we surrender 50 plus to Memphis. They scored 47 at home against a Tulsa team with nothing to play for last week.
Back off Warchild seriously.
