You do if you are an elite athlete playing NCAA football with no pay. Get off Oliver's case. I've watched him play for years now. Impressed with his competiveness and talent. Always amazed at the numbers patriarchial old school types around here who are so quick to judge guys like Oliver. Applewhite was the one who looked like a spoiled little brat on the sidelines. So glad that [deleted] never ended up at SMU. Maybe he should show a little gratitude to Oliver given its not everyday a 5 star athlete signs with a school like UH.

Yeah you are right. Quit on your teammates (as I said he had every right to do that just be honest about it), don’t obey team rules, and physically and openly confront your “boss” because you feel entitled. Perfect resume for a good person.

Oliver will be just fine. He needs to sign with an agent and get out of there. I think if Applewhite would have just asked him to take the coat off he may have complied but Applewhite started taking the coat off of him like a jerk. My boss might verbally confront me (and then he better not curse me) but he won’t physically confront me because then it becomes a different situation. Anyway like I said Oliver will be just fine.

After watching the confrontation on the news, I think Oliver’s behavior was pathetic. If he hadn’t had to be kept from his head coach by another man, or hit the player who was talking( yelling) at him, he might have not come across as a major jerk. He was totally wrong.

Of course he will be fine. Good DTs are hard to come by. But that does not excuse his behavior. I am not an Applewhite fan but I am sure this has been building for the past four weeks when he was cleared to play. Oliver has said he was going to play publicly since the SMU game and then opts to sit out. I think his antics on the field before the game is what brought it all to a head.

So give me your prediction on where you would like to see him fall? I think he is in the top 10 now.

Well he is projected in the top 5 so you have already dropped him by 5.

It'll be interesting to see if he's going to be at the Memphis game next week.

Both parties are to blame.
Applewhite shouldn't even be paying attention to stuff like that. But if he is going to, handle it in the locker room. Any sideline confrontation will be caught on TV. As a HC, you should be smarter than that.
Oliver hasn't wanted to be there for a long time. He's worried about himself, not what UH will do. He should have withdrawn from school long ago so he can focus on the combine and the draft.

I didn’t know he was top 5. That’s why I said I think, so I did not purposely drop him anywhere. But we will just have to wait until the draft before Oliver haters can rejoice or eat crow.

I tend to agree.

The UNT vs FAU game was actually pretty entertaining. UNT's qb got crushed on a hit, came back in.
Didn't watch the end as it was not over by 11. It started very late
