The new class was announced, and there are some very deserving names: Troy Polamalu, Rocket Ismael, Joe Thomas.

But any Hall that takes Lorenzo White, Vince Young, Darren McFadden, etc. and doesn't have Eric Dickerson is a joke. Did SMU make any effort to promote Dickerson? Our SMU bias aside, there are few players from any school who can claim to be more deserving.

Dickerson is being black-balled when I don't even think that Dickerson was a target of a serious NCAA violation finding. SMU was never punished because of the "Trans A&M"*


*I'm fully aware that a decade later the Bishops Report found on-going decades old payroll that included evidence of a list of about 12 players from the early 1980s that I believe included Dickerson's name but that wasn't an NCAA finding and was well past the NCAA statute of limitations
