PREDICT THE 2019 SEASON

It's now game week, boys. Perhaps not for us, but for college football.

Hallelujah.

So what is your prediction for the 2019 season.

Pros:
- We have 16 starters back
- A truckload of transfers, including at key positions
- It's year two of Sonny's tenure
- The schedule is more slightly more favorable

Cons:
- The transfers actually have to workout, not ever a given
- We need more stability on the 0-line
- Need another playmaker on the front Defensive seven
- Secondary needs to step up
- Why can't we ever have a dangerous special teams?

I believe we have the talent to beat anybody on the schedule, even if we aren't favored in all of them, and could hope for a 10 win season. But we also happen to be a bit of a headcase program.

I'm going with an optimistic 8-4. We can contend for a conference title with this team, but I don't think we are there just yet.

Hope springs eternal.

8-4 is my prediction.

If everything comes together perfectly, 10-2.
If there are major injuries (like 2016 where we lost Matt Davis, X. Jones, and Chad Pursley) then 6-6.

There is no excuse for this team not to make a bowl game.

Sadly, I did. But with better QB, more experienced Oline and deeper D, I do expect better results. 8-4

Just checked the Vegas Insider and pleased to see odds beginning to trend in SMU favor, from -3 to -2 1/2, for the Arkansas State game. Will be interesting to see when game week comes.
