I thought the TCU game in football was a 'big win'. And so was the UAB game as were the UofH and UTEP games.

PonyDawg, you hit the nail right on the head! I'm glad we beat UAB on a hail mary, but was that really a "big win"?? No. I know we beat bowl teams last year, and it was a great way to end the season, but I'm talking BIG!

Tech next year would be a big win to start the season off right. A bowl game for us would be a "big win", whether we win or lose the game. Had we been able to beat OU in bball, that would have been pretty big.

Eh, what do I know? I went to a Div. 1-AA school. A school that's playing on SMU's football schedule this season. I predict (going out on a limb here, folks) that SMU will defeat Sam Houston State. But if the Mustangs don't defeat the Bearkats...

Wow, your allegience will really be tested on that day. Will you shame yourself by abandoning your alma mater, or will you show where your true feelings about SMU lie when you are forced to choose against them?

What??..you only support SMU when things are rosy, when we are winning, when life is grand?? Rice had MORE fans at the C-USA tourney than SMU did, though small, Rice had at least 35 people there, we had 4, there were 25 Marshall people at Pat O's after our game on Wednesday, with another 20-25 in town, according to the folks I spoke with...So. Miss had a ton of people, and guess what, they really suck, and Hattisburg is almost as far as Dallas, and believe it or not, SoMiss has a very light Memphis area alum base....Heck, Tulane had a small vocal group in town.........we like to complain, and [deleted], and moan and groan, like spoiled little kids....wonder why no one in Big D, non alum types, want to jump on our bandwagon??

Is our love for SMU ONLY tied to success, in football, in the SWC, vs. Texas (sounds like the carnival scene from The Jerk)??? Folks at the C-USA tourney were there because they love their freakin' school, not some jr. point gaurd from Toledo..they love the school, the memories, the hope for success, the hunger for an upset, wanting to be part of and rub shoulders with other alums / friends....we are basically spoiled little rich kids, with some sort of warped perception of who we are and what we are..it is sad. I enjoyed the heck out of the tourney this week..the band...the staff..the hard work by the team....to bad I had no one to high five after the Rice W....long live BHop...

I'll be there this weekend too, sitting in the UVA section with my dad and bro. Look for the rube with the SMU hat on.
