Re: Uniform Talk
Where do we go on the web to see the descriptions of the 'Dallas' uniform in their entirety? Is it on the school web site or somewhere else?
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Re: Uniform Talk
I had trouble making out the uniforms from the stands, but they look really good on television. Great tie-in with the billboard campaign. Whoever came up with this strategy has finally conceptualized in an attention grabbing way my longtime feeling that the program needs to identify more with the surrounding community. We have been in a bubble for too long. I hope to see those unis more often. Maybe there are bigger ideas in the works? BTW this is money well spent. I remember a few years ago someone suggested a tribute helmet be worn during one of our games and the response was that it cost too much.

I am thrilled to see this. A few years ago Northwestern started a marketing program that included the slogan "Chicago's Big Ten Team," among other things. Attendance went up 10,000 per game in a year. SMU should do everything Jim Phillips did. Here is the gist of it:
- Added 10 new athletic department staff members to help jumpstart the campaign
- Bought seven Chicagoland billboards to promote NU sports
- Increased newspaper and radio advertising
- Launched an outbound sales plan that had employees making 75-100 calls to potential ticket buyers each day
- Introduced the "Chicago's Big Ten Team" slogan
- Transformed "Wildside," the student section, into a student-led, student government-recognized organization; held regular meetings with Wildside to help drive student attendance.

I wish the Pony was more prominent, but other than that, that’s a bad ace uniform!

I fully agree, SMU Pom Mom. As a Chicagoan, the Northwestern marketing plans for Chicagoland has had a positive impact on the FB and BB programs. As Chicago’s Big Ten team (with lots of fellow Big Ten teams alumni local), it added broad support. SMU is Dallas’ Hometown Team.

If you haven't seen any of them yet, this year's billboards are awesome, and each one features a local Mustang (the billboards are in Arlington, Cedar Hill, Desoto, Mesquite, Oak Cliff, Pleasant Grove, University Park, and Southlake).

The Mustang on the helmet should be our regular one.
