We [deleted] and complain that no one at the DMN covers us or cares about us and when someone covers us almost full-time, we complain more. He is doing a great job.

Re: Sam Blum / DMN
I agree hes doing a good job on sports. PK, XC failed to mention, asked what political comments has he made in a previous post so I referenced him.
Now c'mon I think we all agree that the demographics of HP are not the reason for low attendance. Also, SMU cant control it so why bother mentioning it?

We all had an issue with that tweet but that wasn't Sam, that was Corbett, who rightfully got his mentions blown up for that.

This is why I don't pay any attention to tweets … it would be a waste of my time.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Seriously. This!
Unless he compares attendance to an Elton John show. If he does that I'm done.

far more information than we have gotten in years.
I talked to Sam about this thread at Sonny Dykes' radio show tonight, and specifically mentioned this thread and this post. His response was that he appreciates the nice things people have said about him ... and that, regarding the assertion that he reads this site, "you found me out."

PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.

Glad to know he reads this board. I appreciate his coverage and hope it continues to be thorough and positive.
Re: Sam Blum / DMN
I have not seen the level of coverage for SMU in the DMN in quite a while, and I think Sam has played a big part of that. If you follow his twitter feed, he is constantly tweeting about SMU and is writing daily articles, there is something in the paper about SMU every day, today was a nearly full page story along with picture, mostly about the kicking woes, but also gave injury updates.
Good stuff!
Good stuff!
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

Let’s not get carried away. Mr. Blum, while a fine reporter, doesn’t decide how much SMU coverage does or doesn’t appear in The News. Higher ups there have evidently decided to give the Mustangs more coverage for a time. My guess is it has something to do with our having a former UT starter at QB — AND we may be pretty good this year.

So, like support for any other sport in Dallas, it's a bandwagon thing. Win and you get attention. Don't, and you get crickets.
Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.

Heard tail end of Sam Blum being interviewed on ESPNU radio this afternoon. Good coverage of the Ponies.
