https://www.fox4news.com/sports/smu-foo ... eating-tcuThe Mustangs defeated TCU 41-38 last Saturday in Fort Worth. It was the first time SMU beat the Horned Frogs since 2011 and they did it wearing special uniforms with “Dallas” on the front of the jersey and the “Triple D” city logo on the SMU helmet.
“If SMU’s winning, Dallas is winning. I love the uniforms, I love what you all are doing,” said councilman David Blewett, who played for SMU in the 1980s.

noticed the skillet reads SMU vs TCU, with SMU getting first billing sort of like Army-Navy. Cowboys-Redskins we get the status position of being named first. not worth much but I enjoy it.

Don't know who came up with the whole SMU Dallas tie in, but he or she deserves a ton of credit for a great marketing plan. Probably the best thing since Pony Express.

Had a guy at work who saw my Eric Dickerson bobble head and all he could talk about was the uniforms and the Triple D helmet. He was a Kimble guy. Said he wants a shirt.
SMU and Sonny are on to something. May not translate to butts in seats but it is getting noticed beyond the die hards.

Being 4-0 helps of course.

That’s a shame. Does he still consider himself a fan?

Nice article and picture about this in the DMN this morning. It talks about what a big fan the Dallas Mayor is and how he has attended two games so far and what the uniform and helmets mean to him and the city.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

We’re the two council members saying they played at SMU back in the day? Or were they saying they were fans?
