What a phenomenal achievement for the coaching staff that didn’t get a lot of respect taking over. Dykes learned a lot of good lessons in his year off. Seriously the Dallas thing is paying dividends. And having a great defensive coordinator.

Thanks. We're on our second string QB, our 3rd and 4th string running backs, missing our star DB and I could go on. We're calling names of guys who were playing scout team in fall practice at this point. I hope we can maintain and get some guys back from injury soon.

me too....happy and thinking about all the great Mustangs that didn't live long enough to experience this. Certainly a historical moment.

I was at SMU in 82 and 83 for a wonderful ride. I was a walk-on never got to dress out we had a wonderful time. My father played football for the army air corps during world war II. He played with some really great people and loved it Almost won against Bobby Lane. SMU coach didn't want super physical aggressive ex-military on the team so my father sold shoes at volks Brothers downtown Dallas. I am one of 10 people in my family to graduate from SMU very proud. I wish my father was here to share this Joy

Bus, thank you for sharing your story. My dad played in the SMU band in the sixties and I grew up rooting for the Ponies as a teenager during your time as a student. Even though I didn't attend SMU, I never changed my allegiance, and my Dad and I have been attending games together for the better part of 40 years. It is with great joy that we celebrate this milestone together.
