... does anyone know the contract status of Rhett Lashlee and Kevin Kane?
If they're on one-year deals like so many other assistant coaches, should conversations be held NOW about locking them up?

Weird question to ask, but ...... does anyone know the contract status of Rhett Lashlee and Kevin Kane?
If they're on one-year deals like so many other assistant coaches, should conversations be held NOW about locking them up? I really shouldn't drink and type.
Re: Weird question to ask, but ...Nope not weird. Legit question.
No idea here. Google may know.
Re: Weird question to ask, but ...If a bigger school wants to pry them away, they probably can. But if we’re losing assistants to bigger programs then it is what it is — means we’re doing something right. And Sonny seems to be well-respected and have a lot of connections in the coaching community, so I don’t think he’d have a problem finding a quality replacement.

Re: Weird question to ask, but ...It does seem like the entire coaching staff thoroughly enjoys being at SMU. Sonny also wanting to stay gives them job security. They all have families, so I would imagine that is important.
Re: Weird question to ask, but ...I would think that staying at a non p5 school is a lot more attractive when we are winning and being in the top 25.
Re: Weird question to ask, but ...
provided they are all paid a competitive salary; these guys have families to provide for and the working hours are brutal, so you want to be paid well
Re: Weird question to ask, but ...It's a mark of respect when big schools come calling for your coaches, but I'd love to see ours stay in place for a few years and see what they can really build.
