SMU was coming back to campus to start football again. Ownby stadium had not been used for quite some time and needed repairs and upgrades to be a qualifying stadium for the conference. Steve Wilenski (sp) was pres. of M-club and they sold a Cornerstone package to help raise money.

What it was, was 5 years of M-club and 5 years of season tickets all up front.

As a poor starving Dairy salesman I could not afford to participate. I was like 28 or so with kids.

Never forget, Jim Stucker (formerly with Borden Dairy) my general Manager at the time came into my office and dropped a package on my desk. He gave the whole deal as a bonus. FYI - He played Bball for Purdue University and knew I loved the mustangs.

OK. I AM a Cornerstone Member. I signed a note with a Dallas Bank to help pay for the remodeling of Ownby.

I used to occasionally sleep in the high jump pit at Owenby. Does that qualify me as "Cornerstone?"

Speaking of tickets, has SMU done ANYTHING to promote this game and getting butts in seats? Not that I'm surprised...seems a little quiet. Especially with it being family wknd.

Also, if you're a season ticket holder you can purchase additional tickets for $15. Buy your friends a ticket and beg them to come.
