Ranking does not matter as long as we are the top G5. No way we (or any G5) make the playoff. Right now it looks like we will play in a bowl in the Dallas area. Either Cotton or Frisco. That should provide some incentive.

No pressure but that should be some incentive. SD pre-game speech "If we lose this one we play in the Frisco Bowl". If that won't keep the team fired up I don't know what will.

The Rundown: Michigan could an even higher riser than this based on the significance of the beating put upon Notre Dame. The debate between where Michigan and Auburn fit comes down to strength of opponents. Auburn gets the edge, only slightly, with an 11-point and a 3-point loss to a par of top-10 teams. And then the question comes down to whether more voters value the schedules of Michigan and Auburn or the wins themselves by three undefeated teams. What keeps teams like SMU, Baylor and Minnesota away from the top 10? Strength of schedule. The three of them combined have just one win against a ranked team (SMU at No. 25 TCU). Auburn’s loss drops the Tigers out of the playoff hunt, but it was an impressive showing at LSU.

Temple was 25 in coaches poll. Temple and TCU are our best wins. Everything else has been average. Memphis will be a huge game because they should be in 20-25 section.

Wisconsin-Iowa were open prior to next weekend's Big Ten showdown. Wake Forest grabbed its seventh win with a beatdown of in-state rival N.C. State.
