Re: Official SMU vs Houston game thread
Rhett Lashlee still feels like a weakness. His play calling is absolutely mind numbingly painful to watch. Shane was playing like Picks Hicks today. I don't know what's up but very uncharacteristic of him. Seems like we desperately need Reggie so hopefully it's not as bad as it seems.
If we play like this in Memphis with most likely a college gameday showing, we are going to get humiliated. Red zone offense needs a real kick in the [deleted] as we left at least 14 points off the board.

Our red zone offense has sucked all year. I don't know why we cannot score from 10 yards in.
Long live Inez Perez!

Time after time year after year we have lost a game when we were the featured team in national television. Tonight we won. It was not pretty but we won. It was an away game against a state rival and we won. We made some mistakes, both plays and penalties but we won. I think we should try to enjoy this a bit. I know I am going to.

Not to mention it was a very short week. Huge disadvantage from the get go.

Just a note...
Someone at the Athletic Department gets it...just got an email about welcoming the team home.
Nicely done. Internal and external marketing.
Now bring back MUSTANG MANIA

Re: Official SMU vs Houston game thread
I was very worried about this game coming in. Houston's still got speed and athleticism and we just haven't done well in that stadium. As a friend of mine, a Longhorn, just texted me: "It wasn't SMU's best showing this year. But every team has games like this."
I was really worried about this one and it played out exactly to my fears. UH has speed and athleticism. And they had this one circled as a revenge game. Very glad to get out with an ugly win.

A lot of fraternity guys were standing in front of us having a great time. Nice to see the students backing the team and being so excited. I was unimpressed w/the play calling tonight, too. It was so nice to let another school have the moral victory and we left w/the W! 8-0. Lots of work to do for next weekend.

If our team plays like that against Memphis we will not be 9 and 0.
