Re: SMU vs Tulane game thread
Announcers referred to the offensive foul call as being controversial. I thought it was the correct call, but I am prejudiced.
Re: SMU vs Tulane game thread4 guys in double figures and Davis with a double/double thanks to 10 assists...has 7 boards so close to a triple/double. Would like to see Feron join the double figure scorers but it's getting close to garbage time

Re: SMU vs Tulane game thread3 more. 82 - 63. 1:08 to play. Subs swarm the court.
82 - 67 final. 6 - 3 conference play. Last edited by PlanoStang on Sat Feb 01, 2020 9:50 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: SMU vs Tulane game threadI’m happy to see our players decided to finally take this game seriously in the second half. We can’t afford to lose many more games and certainly not to Tulane. On the bright side, we have locked in a winning season and equaled our conference win total the last two seasons.
Re: SMU vs Tulane game threadDouglas didn’t make it in the game for garbage time.
Re: SMU vs Tulane game threadprobably preserving a redshirt year is best for him-he may want to transfer

Re: SMU vs Tulane game threadFive guys in double figures; killed Tulane on the boards; 21 assists on 31 made FGs, everybody shot well and Davis with 13 assists vs only one showboat turnover in garbage time. Guys played great in 2nd half
Re: SMU vs Tulane game thread
I thought the same thing and wondered whether he might even be able to transfer as a grad transfer? Don't know much about him academically
Re: SMU vs Tulane game thread
I really hope he graduates this summer and moves on. He really isn’t a fit for this level and we really need a couple scholarships to upgrade the roster.
Re: SMU vs Tulane game threadSo our guys move to 16-5 and 6-3. Would we be happy with another 6-3 2nd half to AAC play and a 22-8 regular season finish? That has NIT written all over it unless our guys can win the AAC Tourney. Play like they did in the 2nd half tonight and they can play with anyone in this conference.
Huge home games coming up with Houston, Memphis and WSU and road game at Tulsa but absolutely must win all of the other games with UGone, Tulane, USF, Temple and UCF but I worry about this team with road games against anyone!
Re: SMU vs Tulane game threadI want to see more of that 2nd half offense-I don't want to see the ball stick in the post with Chagois or Jassey. In fact, I hope I don't see Chaggy or Jassey dribble more than once for the rest of the year. I don't want to see one on one clear-out sets for Mike or even Jolly. I want to see Kendric Davis with the ball 85% of the time until he gets the defense out of place-then throw the ball around to the open shooter. That was pretty damn impressive and we have not had that strategy this year. Hopefully, we see a lot more it.

Re: SMU vs Tulane game thread
Huge advantage to have a PG who can penetrate defenses but Jank and staff are going to have to be ready for defenses designed to shut Davis down...not unlike what Cincy was able to do. I'm really looking forward to next season with McNeill who might be another guy who can penetrate. Put those guys with Jolly, Band and even White the way he has been coming on and we have the makings of a solid backcourt. Just need another talented big to take someone's place on this roster.
