Post your photos from the "Old Moody"Sent these to my old McIntosh 2 friend and fellow ATO, Charleston Pony, and he thought these would be worth posting. There's bound to be a bunch of classic pics you guys have in the archives. Let's see them.
I attended a lot of games with my grandad, who had 2 seats above the scorer's table, from where these shots were taken. We saw some great basketball together, with names like Bumstead, Loudermilk, Holman, Beasley and the rest. E.O.Doc Hayes was the best ! Wish I could have seen Max Williams. Click on each photo to see the whole pic.
Re: Post your photos from the "Old Moody"digman- thanks for the pics. I was also an ATO. Don't know if you knew it or not but Jan Loudermilk and Jim Hammond were also Taus. I rarely missed a home game when I was a student. Yep. Doc Hayes was one of the best who ever coached at SMU.
Re: Post your photos from the "Old Moody"Real interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Re: Post your photos from the "Old Moody"Suggested to Digman that he post those Moody pics so the youngsters could see what courtside looked like back when Moody resembled Duke's Cameron Indoor. Doc Hayes' teams typically competed for SWC Championships so that certainly helped attendance, but even in Digman's and my days at SMU when Bob Prewitt had taken over, we were competitive enough to pack the courtside student sections for most games.
What jumps out at you from those photos was how lily white SMU was in those days. Digman and I were at SMU when Ruben Triplett, Oscar Roan and Sammy Hervey finally helped SMU basketball break the color barrier. Bball lagged several years behind Jerry Levias and Hayden Fry's football program.
Re: Post your photos from the "Old Moody"Great pictures-love studying that mural on the East side of Moody of Old Moody-talk about a home court advantage with the entire lower level filled with students. Old rich guys who show up 50% of the time don't belong down there. As a kid one of my favorite things to do was sneak down to to the floor once the ushers left with about 5 minutes to go

Re: Post your photos from the "Old Moody"Thanks for sharing, those are great pictures.
Things that stand out to me.... The refs with their uniforms, must have been one of the last years with that fashion. Any idea who the opponent was? Notice how none of the students are fiddling with their iPhones
Re: Post your photos from the
Wow, it is shocking, how far this program has been nosedived.
Re: Post your photos from the
An "engaged" student section...seems like a long, long time ago now

Re: Post your photos from the "Old Moody"
There were probably lines of students with dimes at the pay phones in the concourse. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Post your photos from the "Old Moody"Check out how loud the place got at about the 6 min mark...
Spoiler alert - the end of the game looks a lot like what we have seen out of this year's squad... "Moral Victories Make Me Sick" - TR

Re: Post your photos from the "Old Moody"I think it's a good reminder of what could occur.
