Those were pretty interchangable when I lived there. (Not that the latter applied to me, of course, because that would have been just wrong. But there were some unbelievable antics there a few hundred years ago....
I lived in Boaz all Freshman year (one of the corner units that they put 3 people into). As a result, I had two roomates. The most interesting things that I remember happening that year in the dorms were:
1)When "someone" managed to get some of the communal furniture out of the third story window at the end of the hall. Furthermore, it was raining.
2)One of my roomates cut his forehead open after head butting the window at the end of the hall (don't ask why). Had to go to the ER and everything.
A lot of things happened at the end of the hall. Good times. Good times.
Plus it doesn't hurt anytime that a dorm is co-ed.
Surprisingly, Boaz is one of the more gender-separated dorms because of its communal bathrooms, but it still manages to uphold its wild reputation. I lived there, and experience a few fun stories, but my friend who was an RA there for two years really has some good ones.
For those of us who will be applying next year (namely, me), could you post some of your qualifications so we will know what chances we will have? Thanks
To try to help you out a bit, I was accepted earlier this month-3.45 gpa, 31 on the act. Haven't decided if SMU is where I'll end up, but it's certainly an option.
As far as I'm concerned, the essay is the most important part of your application. A great one will more than make up for any places on your resume that are lacking a bit.
WHY would you go ANYWHERE else? Are you crazy? The best looking girls to go along with the best looking campus in the country! Best 4 years of my life. My biggest mistake was moving into an apartment off campus. I lost a lot of the fun and flavor living with the working people and would definitely have stayed on campus if I had to do it over

Excellent. The "stats" you provide are roughly equal to what I currently have (32 ACT, 3.6 GPA). Hopefully I'll be able to get lucky and do a little better than I have already, but if I don't, hopefully my essay will give me a boost.
