Thank you for remembering this is not a board for debating politics. Discussion of the Bush Library is fine, of course, as it impacts SMU and its athletic department. There are plenty of other forums out there for political debate. Whether they tolerate the name-calling and personal insults that just killed this thread probably varies from one board to the next.

In this case, it was a sudden burst of "elitist Republican" and "stupid liberal Democrat" comments that got very personal and attacked supports of both parties, and had nothing to do with SMU or its athletic department.

This isn't a free speech issue. It is about respect and trust. I can go to other sites to trash talk, especially when it is not about SMU and the Ponies.
