Ummm...okay.
That , uh, virus thingy have anything to do with it?
Yes , it did ! But our response to it is what caused the horrible situation we are now in . Lack
of fall football is but a very minor consequence of this disaster.

big 10 announces conference games only. Looks like season is starting to slip slide away.

There is reporting from a reliable source that the ACC is heading the same way.

So we probably won't play North Texas, Texas State, Stephen F Austin, and TCU.
Would have been nice to get at least 3 wins from those games, but I guess things could be worse.
All things considered it could still be a fun season with conference games only.
Just hate to burn Shane's and Reggie's final years on a partial season....

I wish college football would go ahead and focus on the inevitable now and shift the season to a February 1 start. Hopefully SB and RR will still return in February. Hate wasting those guys...

This season is getting less likely by the day.

Why are conference games ok to play...like say Texas A&M at Alabama.....but North Texas State at A&M is way too dangerous?

I believe the conferences are thinking they can enforce testing, masking, distancing, whatever standards among their 10-15 schools, but they canΓÇÖt be sure what other schools will do. TheyΓÇÖre also trying to minimize travel, somewhat. ItΓÇÖs not a crazy set of thoughts. But it probably wonΓÇÖt work when, say, Ohio State and UNC canΓÇÖt stop outbreaks just among their own teams with other students not even back yet.

No, it buys more time and allows you to change the schedule, either moving the season forward or backwards.
There is so much money being thrown at this thing, that there are new treatments and detection mechanisms coming out constantly. We know a lot more now than a month ago, and way more than two months ago.
That is why reopening early was so stupid. If we had just followed the Europe mode (which followed the advice of American scientists)l... they are in a situation where they can re-open now, and the detection mechanisms and treatment models are going to be well established by the time the infection rate increases, and they will not need to completely shut things down again.
In Europe, everyone can take their summer vacations and spend their travel dollars right now, keeping the travel industry afloat.
In the US, Boeing is laying off 45% of their workforce, and American is going to follow suit very shortly. We are banned from visiting other countries, ban visitors from certain states, and with all of the outbreaks, nobody is going to spend their travel budget this summer.
Hold the idiots accountable for making these bad decisions.

Based on how well we performed last year and the way recruiting is going there is absolutely no way they can allow football this fall. There is too big of a risk that SMU might finally break through. So ut and the ncaa launched their secret weapon, the rona! However, they wanted to make sure they werenΓÇÖt caught so they released it in China first, smart bastards.
Long story short, no football...

I disagree with your politics. By the way politics has no place on a sports forum.
Re: Is Fall College Football a Possibility?
It's not political to say the botched COVID response by our leaders is an exception to how the rest of the world handled things and is why we are in the process of canceling football. It relates to a "why" of sports discussion. Also not forgetting all the Chads and Karens not wearing their masks because of "mah rights" or whatever.
