DR. Richard Bartlett ( Midland DR.) was on TV here in Dallas. Budesonide in a nebulizer for five days along with a antibiotic - Every One Of His Patients test negative - TWICE. Super safe and $200 for treatment.

Let's test. If positive do five day treatment and be back on the field.

College football this spring.

Check it out. Glad this came from Texas!!!!!

That's not news. It was reported at least 3 weeks ago that corticosteroids have had a positive effect on treatment of COVID-19 patients. Initially I heard of dexamethasone, but there are many different steroids that do pretty much the same. The key is to suppress the out of control immune response that can wreak havoc throughout the body. The antibiotic is unnecessary unless the patients have a superimposed bacterial infection, which does happen.

Thanks for more light. Did not see it on news so the last three weeks were dark.

This looks like a much better plan of attack than go home and see if it gets worse.

I post as this is cheap, takes five days and gets the virus early before it causes lasting issues.

Not left... Not right...ΓÇª I want to see SMU football and the US get back to work...AND BE SAFE.

Also O blood types appear to have less lethal response than other blood types. Doesn't mean if you have O you can go out and lick a handrail and not get really sick.

I think everyone wants to solve the problem that is COVID-19. I am on board with this treatment plan as it makes sense in terms of mechanism of action. Hydroxychloroquine never made sense and is even more senseless now that corticosteroids have proven effective because the benefit of hydroxychloroquine in treating COVID-19 is its anti-inflammatory properties. There is no need to subject patients to the toxicity of hydroxychloroquine if corticosteroids accomplish the same thing. Corticosteroids are not without risks though as they suppress immune response and have a whole host of side effects, but mostly with chronic use so hopefully it doesn't become problematic. Ideally someone in the planet comes up with an antiviral that can specifically target COVID-19, that would truly be a game changer.

Yes, you are correct about the news. I even think most people know most of the news is propaganda to control the population. So, if most people know - Let's go about our business. To get back on subject with those that know way more than me.

1- its is cheap treatment.
2- so , using it for 5 days should not initiate side effects.
3- getting this early greatly reduces the long term harmful effects of coronavirus.
4- 5 days is less than 14.
5- Texan talk - "We got this whooped"

I think we should be about treating and getting back to life.. NOW... And heck yes, If somebody finds something better - Wagons Ho!

There is some hope that inhaled steroids can have a beneficial effects for Covid patients. Many asthma patients take a combination of steroids daily and in at least one study they showed fewer severe Covid symptoms. But these steroids are not good for people who are diabetic or pre-diabetic as they spike blood glucose levels significantly in most people. So if they are used to treat Covid I suppose blood glucose levels should be closely monitored. BTW I am not a doctor, I am an asthma patient.

It's pretty hard to get a complaint in your record as a physician. Same with the Texas Bar. And same for CPA.

Not really....lots of physicians get complaints and/or disciplinary actions that are dealt with at the Texas Medical Board every year. And many much more serious and more recent than this doctor back in 2003.

This doctor has been in practice nearly 30 years and the Texas Medical Board had a problem with him 17 years ago using some unconventional methods. They claimed he used "risk filled" medications on five patients 17 years ago. None of the patients died or were hospitalized...as far as I can tell none of the 5 patients even had any poor outcomes from the treatment.

How many people die from "approved killers" like chemo effects every year? or how many people die every year from approved killers like opioids abused after doctors prescribe them post-op?

Listen to any ad on TV about some prescription new drug, and at the end hear all the possible "horrors" of this "approved" drug...."may cause breathing difficulty, may cause heart issues, may cause diarrhea, may cause stroke, may cause skin rash, may cause cancer, may cause vision problems"...blah blah, blah.

According to a recent study by Johns Hopkins, more than 250,000 people in the United States die every year because of medical mistakes, making it the third leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer. (Feb 22, 2018)

The fact is that physicians across Texas spend millions every year in malpractice insurance to cover all their mistakes and pizz poor results.

So the establishment claims this doctor doesn't have a silver bullet...ok... but I would have no problem receiving treatment from this doctor in Odessa. The "approved" method in using ventilators obviously does not have a great mortality rate....so yes in the right circumstances I would certainly CHOOSE to take this doctor's treatment option he offers patients.

But 2EachHisOwn....patients should be informed of treatment risks and then decide what they want to do.

11-3 virus as my DR. said. Oh, it is real but it's not what it is sold to be.

May we ALL have this plague pass by our homes. May God protect you. FYI, that means you taking care of yourself and doing what your mom told you. Wash, stay away of sick people and sty home if you mot feeling good.
