Texas State Game
Have heard through the grapevine this morning that the game is being moved form Sept 5th to Aug 29th.
Interesting move, especially in light of what the P5 conferences are doing.

Re: Texas State Game
Try to get in a game and TV revenue before schools hit a potential outbreak. And reduces number of people trying to travel on labor day for campus events. Makes sense to try and do.

Is this game supposed to be televised? If so, which network?

Re: Texas State Game
Guess I'll have to purchase TX State season tickets to attend.
Or we'll learn ticket details later this week.

I thought they were going to announce that today but instead it will be later in the week. Regardless, no tailgating.AustinPerson wrote:Guess I'll have to purchase TX State season tickets to attend.

Re: Texas State Game
There are tickets on the Texas State website listed for $59 a piece. They are identified as "General Admission" tickets. They also still have the game listed for the original September date.
Bobcat Stadium holds 30,000 capacity. If they limit capacity to a half it should not be too hard to get in to see the game. If they limit it to a third, that might start to be an issue for SMU fans to get in. Historically, the Bobcats do not draw huge home crowds.

Re: Texas State Game
Sounds like it could be the only college football game played in 2020, which could make it a good value. The flip side is that it could be cancelled a few hours before the game, so I think that I'll wait on purchasing a ticket.

If they cancel the game, we can always float a tube down the San Marcos.

Re: Texas State Game
You can make a nice trip out if going to San Marcos - central Texas is very nice...
Suggestion - leaving Dallas, go 281-South and avoid the bulk of I-35 (set a GPS waypoint for the town of Hico). In transit to Hico, you’ll go through Granbury and Glenrose). The drive is much nicer than I-35.
The LBJ Ranch/Texas Whitehouse is in Stonewall, TX only 60 miles from San Marcos. You can step inside of Air Force 1/2 (in Stonewall/LBJ Texas White House).

Fredericksburg is right down road from Stonewall- the National Naval museum is in Fredericksburg - you can touch a midget submarine that entered Pearl Harbor on 12/7/41.

Even though the glass-bottom boats runs are currently closed, it’s still worth going to Aquarena Springs....right across from the football stadium...

Don’t forget the outlet mall south of town - 350 stores in one location..
