They have to be chomping at the bits to get business going again down there. Someone should contact the Chamber of Commerce and see what they could drum up to offer. This will be the first game in the SD since its repair and a true homecoming for Tulane. I would have to believe there would be some place there willing to open its doors to the business just for the asking, znd I mean exclusively for teh SMU crowd. That's what a tourist mecca is known for doing. Now someone other than I just do it!!!!

Precisely. I'll double-check, but I think it was free or next-to-free to reserve the bar for the hornfans.com crowd. Basically it was a sure-fire guarantee that they'd do good business on those nights.

And, as Thadfilms implied above, let's get a head count going. Please pm me and let me know if you're interested in helping set something up or if you're just interested in attending. Thanks, peeps. I'm excited about this.

I'm in. I'll be there with what I'm sure will be 15- 20 young alums and we'll drink anywhere. Just post on the board when a place has been decided on, and I'll spread the word to my groups.

Say hey, SHM

After looking up the references to the SHM, I am a convert and believe that wherever "the man" sets up shop in the French Quarter, it will be the kind of party SMU has been needing.

Sweet. I've already gotten a couple of pm's from people who are interested. I'll keep everyone posted on progress. Obviously this is a ways off, but it doesn't hurt to get the ball rolling a bit.

We would definitely be interested in a pre-game party somewhere sponsored by the alumni association, or the Mustang Club. My Boulevard group already has plans for the trip to NOLA, and we already have approximately 10 people "committed" to the trip and game!!!!

What could be better than SMU football in New Orleans, when they need visitors (and our money) more than ever?

The last time I saw SMU play Tulane in NOLA was in 1991 (or 1992). I am interested. Through my brother, I have some connections in NOLA and can make a few calls to try to hunt down a pre and post game hangout. I tried to PM LHF68, but kept getting an error message.

Very interested in Helping out..

Have family that runs SaltWater Bar and Grill near Tulane. Maybe not the location we're looking for.. but I'm sure my cousin would help suggest any place that would be closer to the Dome.

Of those interested, would you rather spend time in the French Quarter or in the area around Tulane and Loyola?

Your beloved Alumni Band is trying to get a permit to perform in the French Quarter the evening before or after the game. If we can get a permit and enough players, we will be there.

I hope we can get a meeting place in the French Quarter for our home away from home club. It would be great for the Alumni Band to play for a bunch of SMU fans in the French Quarter.
Just send 'da money.
