Going undefeated....That would mean that we likely go 3-0 vs. Top 25 teams - Memphis, Cin, as well as UCF in a title game and then go on to win a bowl game against another Top 25.

Unless that bowl game happened to be the BCS playoff, that would mean we would win the National Championship.

So, I am going to have to say... not likely.

Sure, it's possible as we see key pieces continuing to come together. Remember that our OC is new, one of the reasons why we saw significantly more offense in our second game. But based on what I'm seeing right now, I expect that we will lose two or three games this season, something like that. We'll probably slip in to the Top 25 next poll, assuming of course we take care of business with SFA. (We're at 28 right now. TCU is 29).

I was hoping the offensive line would be more powerful and blow the defensive line off the line. Although they played much better against NTU they had several plays that were critical and NTU seemed to get the best of them. That bothers me as the OL has to dominate to have a good shot at 8 to 10 wins. May I remind all that the 2019 team played a number of games that could have gone either way; one even went into triple overtime. I love to win those close games but we can't count on winning all close games. If the OL and the DL, and the LBs and DBs and RBs, etc. play as well as I think they are capable of playing SMU will go undefeated. I think you will see my prediction is accurate.

Man, I hope you're right.
But with the Big Ten teams reentering the poll, it's hard to believe any any win over SFA could earn a spot in the top 25.

A little less crazy. I still see some things that worry me -- especially with our run defense. O course the loss of Roberson and TJ. And maybe Bentley's not Dickerson part two. But it's not unthinkable.
