Re: What in the hell happened last night?Coaching mistakes were made, sure.
My big takeaway is that Cincy is legit, and we aren't at the stage of our program to make up for the loss of a really good WR and RB against a very, very good defense. We aren't where we need to be at OL, DE, and Fox. Yet.
Re: What in the hell happened last night?Secondary and pass coverage was pathetic. Cincy secondary was legit. I don't recall many (any?) passes defensed by us. Incompletes were bad throws or drops. Their receivers seemed to always have 5 empty yards around them. Our receivers usually had defenders in their back pockets. Our linebackers seemed to be confused or back on their heels leaving tight ends wide open and running backs going forward 4 yards after contact. DEs need to contain the edges better but they the D-line was the best part of the defense.
On offense no excuse for all the drops. This is supposed to be our strength but didn't play like it last night. Page was the only dependable receiver. Unfortunately he is fastish but not a burner. Probable should start Lavine at RB and bring in Bentley as the change of pace. Get the opponents defense used to bull rush up the middle and then struggle to adjust to Bentley.
Re: What in the hell happened last night? One of the things I noticed was the overall speed of Cinci's defense. It was almost impossible to get anything going outside.
Re: What in the hell happened last night?I noticed the press coverage, and the Cincy defense understanding that pressure would not allow for deep or developed routes.
Their front 7 was impressive, and their secondary had speed to burn. We were outmatched. stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
Re: What in the hell happened last night?I think Cincy's D is legit especially their secondary. Lots of speed there. Rashee Rice has the speed to get open and seemed to be the long option at times. A few catches instead of drops, even mediocre time management and not hold in the red zone, and that was a winnable game. We are not far away. Up until the last four minutes the D played well in the second half. By then, I think they were gassed.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: What in the hell happened last night? If Gray is out for any length of time, Rice will never get single coverage again.
Re: What in the hell happened last night? It was reported that Gray practiced Sunday and will be a go this Saturday.

Looks like mr pony must have deleted his post, or perhaps the mods. I saw it and had the same thought. Let's just talk football
Re: What in the hell happened last night? The team just needs to focus and get that sixth win to be bowel eligible!
Go Ponies! Shake It Off Moody
Re: What in the hell happened last night? There is no win total necessary for bowel (sic) eligibility this year. Any team can go to any bowel that takes place. Some bowels are cancelling so there is no guarantee for anyone from what I understand.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: What in the hell happened last night?Do think that they will still play the tiddy bowel.
