Then again, Cincinnati was a road team when they blew us out.

After hearing Rod Carey talk it sure sounds like Temple is in rough shape. With our high-powered offense coming to town you wonder if this might be the kind of game where he pulls out all the stops. He might even consider swapping the numbers of his defensive players around and giving the single-digits to some of the worse players and putting the typical higher numbers on his best players. This could cause SMU to inadvertently run plays towards the good players and maybe slow us down a bit. I know I would sure consider it if I was coaching Temple this week. I definitely don't like SMU being on the road after a longer flight and a messed up schedule for the practice week, but we still pull it out. SMU 35 Temple 28 It sure is nice being able to predict normal football scores for the Ponies again instead of always having to subtract a point or two for missed extra points.

We put 51 on a much better Navy squad. I don't think this will be a close game.

With our history against backup QBs, this is not a feather in the cap

Yeah. I hope we are getting some good eleven-on-eleven practice this week simulating the style of their backup quarterback.

To our opponents, playing a top 25 team is a big deal. Everyone will be up for us.

If he were coming in mid-game, I'd agree. But he already led them to a 3-point effort in last week's blowout loss to Tulane, and the coach has said that two QBs will alternate possessions and he will go with whoever "has the hot hand." Not going to help either's confidence.

The more I think about it the more I think we are going to clean their clocks. Still won't sleep tonight though. Go Ponies!
