Re: MBB vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi game thread
I know we've faced two bottom-feeders, but I really like the scoring distribution we have seen so far. Different guys capable of carrying the load offensively on different nights. Four guys in double figures the first game five guys in double figures this game. Hopefully that trend continues, especially with Jolly opting out. We lost two of our three best players from last season in Mike and Jolly, but if the whole team can distribute that load we can still be very competitive this season.

And I just want to know whether Anei is going to be able to play this year. He could make a huge difference in the low post and that element is going to be missing without him once we get into conference play. Don't know whether our administration is simply incompetent and submitted his paperwork late or whether the NCAA just has a thing for SMU, but it shouldn't take this long to know whether he will be allowed to play this season.

Frankly the NCAA should just rubber stamp all transfers for eligibility this season.

Re: MBB vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi game thread
The offense is way, way, way more fluid than it has been the past two seasons. Lots of motion, constant movement and activity on both offense and defense.
It makes it a really fun team to watch.
Individually, we don't have great defenders. But our team defense is really strong.
Douglas is a revelation this year, but Charles Smith has made a gigantic leap.
Everyone is playing hard. If anyone doesn't they are going to be out of the rotation. Ray didn't play last night but nobody noticed because 2 ate his minutes. I think Ray is going to struggle to get back in. If Jolly comes back, we are actually going to have to sit a good guard. The depth on this team is crazy.
It is going to be fun to watch, that is for sure. If a team manages to slow down the pace of the game, get us half court, and isolate in a set offense, I think we will struggle defensively a bit. But anyone that we can get into a run and gun game is going to be fun to watch.
There is a little irony in that it has taken us this long to get enough depth on the team to get to where Larry wanted to take us - picking people up man at the airport. We have the depth at 1-3 to do that right now.
The game @Temple is going to be fascinating to see if we can play good team defense in the half court, and if we can speed the game tempo up against a team that wants to slow it down.

McNeill is supposedly a strong defender.

But then tweeted this today:
"It ain’t ova til the 4th quarter, don’t count me out too soon #PonyUp Horse #VictoryLap"
Hard to read between the lines, speculation is rampant, and Tim Jankovich is limited in what he can say, in the interest of protecting Jolly's privacy.
Hope Jolly is OK.
