I'd be careful if I were you. I have called the Nigerian Bar Association and they have no record of Mr. Yusuf Bello being a member. The Insurance and Tort Law section is, however, having a free one hour CLE Thursday of this week at the Belo tent entitled "Risk of Loss for Airplane Dropped Food Shipments" to be followed by a cash bar reception.

With all due respect to the Belo mansion, when isn't there a cash bar reception?

Well you got attorneys, alcohol, and an odd form of death which all add to humor but you probably needed a rodent or marsupial mention to take it over the top.

You mean something like what did the drunken lawyer say to the dead rat at the Belo Mansion? Or what did the drunken rat say to the lawyer at the Belo Mansion before the Rolls ran him over?

As a newly minted member of the firm's Bankruptcy practice group, I was mandated to go for the first time last month. A couple of stiff drinks doe wonders to get you through one of those things. I may have to go again next week, and if so, you're buying.

I think you mean the dead rat's widow: "Here's my card, call me."

Gee, at Alexandria Bar Association meetings, we have open bar and the drinks are free. In Virginia, bourbon and law go together. Something about old south gentility, you have to love.
