If Laura can get the Wright amendment lifted, I will forgive her other transgressions.

I assure you, she is going to F' it up. She is going to try and cut the number of Southwest gates in exchange for adding Alabama, Tennessee and Wisconsin and then she is going to be stunned when Southwest says it isn't good enough. And she is going to try and divert small aircraft traffic to Executive airport to please her Bluffview and HP friends to reduce the noise. Then there is going to be a huge stink over noise polution near Executive Airport and Love Field and she won't be able to sell it to the Dallas City Council and the negotiations are going to end miserably.

The strong mayor debates had their merit. I don't want to get too into debating it, as I admittedly am no expert on the situation.

However, my gut tells me that at least 50% of the people that voted against it were actually voting against her and not the idea. That is very short-sited. Unfortunately, it was such a blowout that it won't come up again for decades.

The Red River Rivalry (now that SBC/AT&T sponsors it) turns into a home & home. Sad, because no matter who you rooted for, this was one of the best traditions in all of college football.

I hope that Laura Miller can at least get something accomplished and get more business back into downtown.

I understand to some degree about how some people don't like Laura Miller, and I agree that there is less happening than when Kirk was in office. However, I think the real issue is that she is unable to get anything done since she has been at odds with the City Council from day one. It seems more and more to me that it is the City Council that is the problem not the individual at the top. Doesn't anyone remember the FBI raiding the offices of several council members.

Maybe I am incorrect, but I think that the council has been at odds with Laura Miller since day one because she is a rich, opinionated, white woman. Anyone who thinks that race and status don't enter in to the equation are dead wrong.

Overall, I don't think Laura Miller has done enough, but I am unsure how much she can do with the structure of our city's government.

She is at odds with the City Council because that is the way she is. She brings it on herself. Other mayors have done more with the same.

Hey, there are a lot of lawyers on the board. Police Chief Terrell Bolton got fired and sued the City of Dallas. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being really smart), how smart was it for Laura Miller to call Bolton an "idiot" after he had been fired and litigation was pending? It was stupid; she can't help herself. She's an elitist moron.

None of that would surprise me, and I seriously doubt a local solution would ever be reached in the first place. FW will line up behind American. Southwest really doesn't need Laura, they've got Herb, and he's one tough SOB. But there's no solution reachable in that lineup.

Why don't we just add seats to Ford? We could also get a new scoreboard! That way, despite our program's recent record and attendance, all of the heralded recruits will flock to Mockingbird.

I think that would be a shame for the RRC to be gone. It's a great tradition. It will be interesting b/c the Cotton Bowl classic will be gone in a few years (I don't know the contract length) and Jerry World will have a new bowl...the Jerry Jones Bowl? The area will deteriorate for sure. Music Hall and Starplex are the only destinations around there other than CB.

Laura Miller is a biatch and despite the City Council idiots, she has made some horrible decisions - didn't she send a letter of recommendation for the Bush library in Irving?

Dallas could be in a lot better shape if they got the City Council in order.

Prior to Miller, Dallas could have the Ballpark and Cowboy Stadium next door to each other if they played it correctly years ago.

I am actually not sure how much longer music hall will be a well used venue. I know that they are building that major Opera/Theater house in the Arts District Downtown. I would bet that once that opens there won't be many productions at the Music Hall. I know for sure that the Dallas Opera is moving.
