Really lucky to win this game. Theses are two very evenly matched teams but we were playing 8 vs 10 tonight and it showed in that 2nd half. Memphis owns K.D. and that makes this a very different SMU team without being able to count on our leading scorer. They just took it to him with taller athletic guys pressuring him all week. Will be interesting to see what Houston does to try and take him out of the next game

Our guards hit 1-14 threes tonight. Tired legs. Really could have used McNeill's minutes. Lucky to have won this game. Basically gutted it up on D and boards and that was the difference, especially having to play that team short handed. Hitting 12-13 FTs was huge!

Because we were playing them 8 on 10 and if you didn't notice, our guys were gassed at the end and Memphis kept coming on strong. If we shoot FTs like Memphis, we lose. If there is a conference tourney and we play these guys again, we need McNeill back at full strength

And the "non goal tending" call late in the game helped, too. We complained Tuesday about calls going against us but last night we got some "home team" calls. Jump ball at the end was questionable, but if Jolly had tried to escape I think he would have gotten the foul call, By pulling down that board and remaining stationary, he set them up to make that call.
