Our guys hit 19-20 FTs to put this game away. Jolly with 4 clutch FTs down the stretch. Good road win but leaves you wondering how these guys beat Houston. Three point shooting can make or break any team's night. Both teams were dreadful from three tonight

Ray made a huge move when he held Ethan back after him getting stepped by the ecu player. May have saved Ethan from retaliating.

I thought the same thing. Big play by Ray that doesn't show up in the box score.

Short-term possibly but long-term maybe a confrontation showing some passion could help bring the team together and inspire us for a big February and making the NCAA.Terry Webster wrote:Ray made a huge move when he held Ethan back after him getting stepped by the ecu player. Of course a loss to ECU would have ended any hope of making the NCAAhorsemanx wrote:Short-term possibly but long-term maybe a confrontation showing some passion could help bring the team together and inspire us for a big February and making the NCAA.Terry Webster wrote:Ray made a huge move when he held Ethan back after him getting stepped by the ecu player. Re: MBB at ECU game thread
I know there are variables to consider, but would we go if we won out the rest of our regular season?
Re: MBB at ECU game thread
I would think so. If we can get some separation as the clear #2 in the conference, we should be guaranteed an at large bid. Really need to win out!ponyboy wrote:I know there are variables to consider, but would we go if we won out the rest of our regular season?
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!
Re: MBB at ECU game thread
If SMU wins all its remaining games I think we would be a tournament lock. I just don't see that happening or even close. I think we can probably afford one more loss to be on the bubble. If we win at Wichita State, I believe that is currently a quadrant 1 win. We can probably afford a loss to Tulsa or Wichita State at home or USF or Cincinnati on the road.

Re: MBB at ECU game thread
I'm assuming Houston holds on and loses no more than 3 games to win the conference and since we already have 4 losses I'm thinking we probably need to win out. Might get away with one more road loss at one of the top 3 or 4 teams (I'm assuming that would be Wichita State or possibly USF since they have 2 and 3 losses, respectively right now). Have to hope Memphis finishes strong but we need to sweep Tulsa (would mean we swept both AAC teams to have beaten Houston).
I've not heard that they have cancelled post season conference tournaments so there is always the possibility of winning or at least making the finals to offset another regular season loss but somehow you want to be the # 2 team in the AAC to have any hope of an at-large bid.

Re: MBB at ECU game thread
I'd say win out and have to win at least 1 AAC tournament game. AAC isn't getting a lot of respect this year -- some saying it's a 1-bid league.
SMU! SMU! SMU!

Re: MBB at ECU game thread
If they are in the Top 75 RPI a win at their place would be a quad one. That might be the only opportunity we have the rest of this regular season and it remains an "if". They just pulled off a one point win at UCF so that helps a little in terms of WSU but also drops UCF and takes away from our road win there...at least that's the way I understand it.Terry Webster wrote:Is Wichita st a quad 1 or 2 if we beat them?
Quad One win = home win vs RPI top 30 or neutral win vs RPI top 50 or road win vs RPI top 75
