little ricky proving there is no real interest in bball beyond being mediocre or less. Plus we seem to have lost any $$suporters for this program. Hoping most will boycott this crap until a change is made.

meanwhile Texas doesn't fool around. Shaka knew he was on thin ice especially after getting beaten by ACU and left town before the posse could ride him out on rails.
and all the while our mental hernia of an AD does nothing but ponder his navel. Just shows what schools want to win and be respected versus those schools who are happy with an occasional participation trophy.

To be fair, the whorns operate under an entirely different budget than good old SMU does

I have to believe SMU would show better if we had 5 times the number of alumni and athletic boosters that we do have compared to UT. Easy to complain about the handful of wealthy alumni who bankroll SMU football and basketball. Might have a different view if it was your $$$

If we had this many alumni and boosters Turner would have been dismissed years ago...at the end of the Bennett era or earlier.

Excuse me!! don't hear many complaining about our fball program. Those supporters understand winning is more than participation trophies. BBall, well that is a different story. Can you say 'crickets', yes I knew you could.

What have we won in football though? I'd say football is at the equivalent of a 16 team NIT right now. The difference is that football is at least recruiting on a high level with a clear upward trajectory.

We've been excited about Football recruiting but much of that has been the transfers Sonny has been able to attract. Stone was the 1st 4 star H.S. kid in forever. Meanwhile, we've been pretty excited about some of the bball transfers like Davis, Jasey, Anei, McNeill, etc...who all came from P5 schools and were ranked higher than what we were attracting from the H.S. ranks
