For some time, the NAIAD has been playing with fire by funding gain-of-function coronavirus research. It was only a matter of time before something bad happened. As Director of the NAIAD, Fauci almost certainly signed off on the research at a facility, Wuhan, that was well-known to have very poor safety protocols.
When the inevitable happened and SARS2 (COVID-19) escaped from the Wuhan lab, a cover campaign was initiated and the scientific community (knowing who butters their bread) fell in line, as did a worshipful mainstream media.
If you still don’t care to know what happened or why it’s important, I can’t help you. But I, for one, don’t particularly like my public officials to lie to me, especially when they cause 3M deaths worldwide and then have the balls to stand there and issue health advice. I’m a little skeptical of what they tell me — sorry.
One thing that is awesome about how these programs are set up is that we have a ton of whistleblower protocols set in place for abuse of power, which we have seen over the past few years.
What is also awesome and well known is that scientists hate politicians.
IF the lab in China leaked the virus (maybe it did, maybe it didn't), and there is an attempt at a coverup within the CDC or NAIAD, scientists will absolutely blow the whistle on it, and we will all find out about it.
If you think that any scientific community would ever "fall in line" with the media or politicians, you really, really don't know anybody within the scientific community. The same laughable statement was made in regards to global warming, is a complete joke, and is really targeting people who have no contact with anyone in science.
The scientists that I know are quite intelligent, have a strong moral compass, and are the most incredibly sarcastic and skeptical people you have ever met. It doesn't take much for them to complain non-stop that a process wasn't perfectly followed. You need to be picturing more Big Brain Theory and less whatever hollywood movie comes to mind.
