The Cowboys will regret cutting Gilbert. They really could have used some veteran QB depth from a player with a ring.

Jones & Moore really like Cooper Rush but somebody will be going after Cam Newton so who knows? Hope Gilbert and Buechele both make somebody's practice squads but neither is consistent NFL starter material...at least not yet

Who knows, several injuries and the practice squad QB becomes a fan favorite. Look at Taylor Heineke in Washington. Fans love him for the way he played in that Tampa game. If Fitz falters, watch for Heineke to start.

So our current list of guys on active rosters includes:

Kelvin Beachum Arizona Cardinals
Cole Beasley Buffalo Bills
Evan Brown Detroit Lions
Kylen Granson Indianapolis Colts
James Proche II Baltimore Ravens
Horace Richardson Denver Broncos
Emmanuel Sanders Buffalo Bills
Brandon Stephens Baltimore Ravens
Courtland Sutton Denver Broncos
Zach Wood New Orleans Saints

And practice squad guys:

Buechele & Dieter with K.C.
Banjo with Arizona
Gilber with New England
Lawler with L.A. Rams
Naggar with Browns

Might have missed someone but no sign of Margus

I'd sign Margus for practice squad to make life difficult on my kicker in practice. After seeing him all week any other team would be easy.

Haven't seen where anyone picked him up but after 8 seasons, I assume Margus might just figure it's time to move on to another career? I always thought he was a pretty bright and talented guy. Would be interesting to hear what he's doing if he is in fact moving on from football.

I think he's 35? Not sure if he could resume throwing or whether he might be better suited for a coaching career. Correction: he just turned 34

Bummer seeing Proche get zero looks, yet wide open. Stephens looked pretty good.
