A lot of the big schools are announcing their starting QBs today like Alabama, Texas, and us.

UT announces starter but QB situation basically "unsettled." This is always a slippery slope in Austin. By the end of the first week every Starbucks cashier in town will have a strong, vocal opinion on the situation and the media will dwell on the lineup possibilities day and night. In at least some ways I am glad that SMU sports is not constantly under the microscope although it would be nice if we got the same type of praise and hero worship the Frogs get from the Startlegram.

Back up QB is always just one snap or one bad game by the starter from becoming the new # 1, so let's just hope both guys are committed to riding out their careers with SMU. So much could depend on future conference alignments, schedules and TV exposure.
