Re: Other AAC games
Didn't take Tulane long to respond. Now up 14-7 and it appears neither defense can stop the other team. Don't know how deep Tulane's roster and whether they can keep this up for 60 minutes, but a fun start.

Holy Cross up 31-28 at UConn in 3rd quarter. At least UGone has accepted the fact they are a basketball school. They should just drop down to FCS level if they could find a conference home, perhaps in the Patriot Conference along with Holy Cross & Georgetown.
Rutgers now up 40-14 vs Temple and Oklahoma 37-14 vs Tulane

Tulane hanging in, 37-22, showing some fight in the 3rd. Their QB has been murdered time and again. Tough kid.

Tulane looks like they are going to be a lot tougher than most expected. Good thing we get them at Ford. Their little stadium is going to be snake pit for visitors. They get Houston & Cincy in New Orleans.Arkpony wrote:So close for Tulane. Good showing.

Will be rooting for Tulane against Houston and cinci. In many ways, I feel like SMU and Tulane are similar in many ways. Solid academic university, small private school, in a large city where we are both outweighed by t-shirt fans and alums from lower-ranked public universities.

Re: Other AAC games
There seems to be a huge disparity between the top half of the AAC vs the bottom. Temple, USF, Tulsa, ECU and now Navy are just utter garbage. When the Big12 guts the AAC we could be seriously relegated to being even with the rest of the G5. Extremely disappointing.
The other big fear I have is with this alliance against the SEC, it really feels like they're just trying to prevent games with the G5. We could be seeing us being unofficially moved to D-2. If that happens then we might as well pack up.

Go indépendent. It is a gamble with no conference revenue, but it is an uncharted arena that allows for scheduling opportunities. AND to develop either a greater presence out of DFW or a quick death through anonymitySMU_Alum11 wrote:There seems to be a huge disparity between the top half of the AAC vs the bottom. Bump.
Our conference sucks. Ecu should have won. Tulsa always screws up in the 4th quarter. Temple, South florida, navy are embarrassing. What the hell defecting cincy?

Tulane beats Morgan State 69-20 in their home opener. I don't care who the opponent...when you hang 69 points on anyone, these guys are real.
ECU loses a heartbreaker 20-17 to South Carolina on a 36 yard FG as time expires
Navy up 3-0 early vs Air Force
Temple down 17-14 at Akron. Ouch!
Tulsa loses 28-23 at Okie State
Cincy tied 7-7 with Murray State
