At what point do we just go independent? If our choice is to keep getting pushed down the conference ladder why not try to go independent and schedule who we can get to play us.
Re: At what point do we just go independent? We don’t have the fan base needed to do it and there isn’t a viable conference in the region for our Olympic sports. It would be idiotic to sacrifice basketball and not even place football in an autonomous conference.

Yep
Re: At what point do we just go independent? On the Big12 side of thing, one thing really hurting us is not having a baseball team. They're a big baseball conference and I scratch my head at why we keep shooting ourselves for not having one.

Re: At what point do we just go independent? How would it work for us to get paid if we weren't in a conference?
I guess there is a way these schools are doing it Army BYU Liberty New Mexico State Notre Dame UConn C-ya @ Milos!
Re: At what point do we just go independent?
Notre Dame and BYU have TV deals because of their large fan followings. The rest are low budget programs. Liberty is up and coming and I don't know all the particulars about how they are financing their athletics but they obviously have a lot of big money donors https://www.pilotonline.com/sports/coll ... e2474.html
Re: At what point do we just go independent?Liberty is trying to be the Baptist BYU.
