Amazing ending. That was all the players. My criticism stays with Riley but the players man. That was heart. No one is giving him credit but my friend pointed out, none of that would have happened had Rice not jumped in there.

I have a confession...

I was so frustrated I turned it off after the turnover on downs. I am ashamed at 63 that I still try to avoid the pain of a BYU-esque ending. Did the same with the UAB game years ago when Chase made the game-winning catch.

Sigh.

There is always Sportscenter Top Ten.

I said I hope that I had to eat my words. Chomp, chomp, chomp. Our D needs to get serious and show up from here on out though.

Did you notice how #71 flattened the defender on the last play? Glad no call against him.

Yeah. I saw that. We got lucky. I don't feel bad about it at all. I'll take it.

I think the offense has been a bigger disappointment so far.

The defense was the biggest disappointment today by getting picked apart by the LT QB :!:

I actually played in a golf tournament and was not able to watch this game live. Just finished watching the recorded game and was very careful NOT to see a score to know how this one ended. Almost gave up hope with so little time to get that final TD but have to give our guys credit for a great "hurry up" drive. What a finish. Great game between 2 pretty competitive teams and good to finally win one in Ruston. Bottom line is that it's a W and Tanner keeps racking up TDs. I haven't listened to any post game but wonder if that's a play they practice...the way Reggie stayed outside the scrum. Great job by Rashee winning the tip drill. I will enjoy watching that finish again several times this week!

Give our offense credit for great clock management that final minute of play. With no time outs!

Hmmm, a bump or probably more likely a set to a hitter/...I mean catcher outside of the jump ball players :!:

If it wasn’t the case this time, sounds like a great multi sport idea for a hail Mary :!:

Why in Hades were we in the position where we had to get lucky to win? I’m out of town and missed the second half.

Because Riley isn't good at being an OC. We left a ton of points off the board due to bad playing calling.

We ran the ball. We had explosive plays. It saved us at the bell.

The play calling was inconsistent, and the execution of those plays was equally inconsistent.

I thought the O-Line started to wear LaTech's front seven down late in the fourth quarter, but because of the nature of the calls, there was no rhythm or sync and we were left with TM trying to stretch to reach a first down that was unreachable on the 4th down scramble. Emblematic for the day.

The defense was equally inconsistent. I thought the D-Line got decent pressure on their QB, but were being moved on rushing plays. The secondary...well, thankfully there was a key interception to prevent LaTech from scoring again.

Short version, as Char Pony shared, a rally for the win on a play that we will remember, but hopefully forget the balance of this one as a poor performance. It is a terrible thing for SMU fans to have real expectations for improvement, but we should and my hope is they are realized next week. After this game, they get harder and more important.

Whew...Rant off.
