Spurrier always emptied his bench but when the 3rd stringers were still scoring because they continued to run the offense, I never found fault with them. Some of those mis-matches never should have been scheduled but the visiting team usually played those games for a fat paycheck so who was really to blame?
I never liked the "show me a loser" quote because that's what Patterson is. The homer announcers said over and over that "nobody hates losing more than Patterson" and it shows in how he reacts post game. Losing stinks but we all have to learn to deal with losing
To quote the PPO: "FACT"- SMU ran all over TCU. When you do that, you have proven who the most physical team is. The most physical team playing usually wins the game. As stated in another thread, SMU could have hung another 21 on the Frogs were it not for costly turnovers.
Yesterday, SMU was the better team.
I'm convinced they are today as well.
stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
For all of TCU’s success, they have been abandoned as all the rest of the Little 12 have been… They are in a conference with stable mates no better than SMU… I could not care less about being in their crappy conference, making him whine every time SMU beats them is very satisfying.
Gary Patterson is a very, very talented coach. He has built TCU, with his own hands, from a middle of the road MWC team into a solid power 5 team. He was willing to change/adapt his personal style of 4 yards and a cloud of dust to a wide open offensive scheme. If you asked his neighbors (assuming he really doesnΓÇÖt live in a van down by the river) or friends (if he has found anyone who can handle the profuse flop sweats) he is probably a really good guy.
That being said, during/after every game he apparently goes through some sort of Psuedo Psychological breakdown that makes him appear like a steaming pile of [Gary Patterson]. The ΓÇ£assaultΓÇ¥ on Coach Kill is a classic example. Another classic example is when he went after the team doctor when the medical professional wouldnΓÇÖt allow a running back re-enter the game (concussion protocol). He even called the doctor out in the post game press conference (the school walked that one back, not Patterson). I recall there was also an issue that he was 100% wrong on when he lost to WacoΓÇÖs Rape U several years ago. One thing is certain, he will never publicly apologize for his statements. TCUΓÇÖs administration will not force him to walk back his statements and GP, being a steaming pile of [Gary Patterson], will quietly move on. So the lasting impression that anyone who has heard his comments, but doesnΓÇÖt have a vested interest, is that SMU must be a bunch of scumbags. This is all because he completely becomes delusional on game day.
String together a few losing seasons and I suspect the TCU administration will have all the excuse they need to bounce Patterson. Not sure how many years he has left on his current contract. Maybe he's feeling a lot of stress these days but his rants after virtually every loss must be wearing on a lot of people. I'm not sure Patterson is still walking on water in cowtown. Didn't several prognosticators predict TCU as their dark horse Big XII champion this year? Maybe they will be because nobody looks very strong right now.

To call out the thing with the frog legs a year later, itΓÇÖs clear it eats at him (no pun intended) when weΓÇÖre better at football too. He says we hate them, yes we hate them and they hate us. We hate that we got the shaft for the death penalty when they cheated but didnΓÇÖt cheat well enough to win. We hate that their administration got a coach that is an ahole but a good coach that resurrected a program that was just as irrelevant in the football landscape as we were. They hate us because weΓÇÖre a much better academic school and we know it. Then the Dallas vs Ft Worth.
But you donΓÇÖt call out a player as he did. HeΓÇÖs a hypocrite because his hatred towards SMU is so evident in his actions and comments. We hate that they have an advantage over us because theyΓÇÖre in the B12, and he hates that while heΓÇÖs in the same P5 conference, he still canΓÇÖt compete against the big boys (OU and UT) when it comes to recruiting and talent level.
HeΓÇÖs always been a sore loser and praises the toads when they beat better programs with better athletes but doesnΓÇÖt admit when other programs beat them with the same underdog attitude he has.

Until then, his opinion about who has class holds zero weight.
I like to agree with you but with all those "buzz words" it just seems silly. People were claiming the purple pimple guy was a racist and I've yet to find anything he said, albeit annoying, to be racist.
To be very clear, I never called him a racist. I just simply pointed out that the language he used to describe a black person was commonly used by people who were racist.
I'm sorry if anyone was offended by me pointing that out. But the easiest way to avoid things like that happening is not just not say mean things about people. When you speak negatively about people, you are eventually going to put your foot in your mouth. I'm sure we have all learned that lesson at some point in our lives.
