Back in the SWC days, each school’s Homecoming Queen was a member of the Cotton Bowl court. (Not sure which sheep the Aggies selected but I digress). We would go with 2 queens?
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

The only reason this should be embarrassing to anyone is if you actually care about out dated norms to begin with.

Could not agree more. Its embarrassingly high school. And then to have a stadium full of sorority girls show up only for that game is just dumb. Every year i feel like i am watching a bad movie, and you have to think the adults that have to deal with the whole process as part of their job are cringing the whole way.

Norms are better than an abyss of immorality and confusion.

Traditions are good to have. As part of that "homecoming" you're talking about, there needs to be traditions to make it meaningful. Why bother singing varsity after the game? One could say that seems middle school-ish.

My secret is that I'm embarrassing and pointless already. It's just about required to be in here.

Immortality? Or did you mean immorality and it's mask off time?

Yeah, didn’t you know? Heterosexuality grants you immortality.

I feel like Bob would have something witty to say about this if he were still around... For those that don't know who Bob is - this was your grandparent's Jimmy Fallon - and he used to hang out at SMU every once in a while: "I like a president who tells jokes instead of appointing them" "I love to go to Washington, if only to be near my money" "You know you are getting old when the candles cost more than the cake. " "I have performed for twelve presidents and entertained six"

Lol I guess it makes sense to be immoral and have an immortal soul. Maybe not a typo!

My wife was a finalist and a Presidential Scholar, so it happens...

He was asked about sex after 80, and said "very satisfying, especially the one in the fall." Very quick and very funny in a G-PG world back then.
