free agentsDo any of our guys have a chance to be signed as free agents? Villoria? Others?
Re: free agentsI hear Vic Viloria is going to take a full year to get his neck healthy and then try to earn a free-agent tryout next year.
Hampton should get a shot (Coach Bennett has been quoted more than once saying he could play in the NFL, if he gets in to the right system). And I think Kris Briggs might get a shot. Nothing official yet, though.
Re: free agentsHampton signed a free-agent contract with Tennessee. The deal will be completed tomorrow. He told me mini-camps start this weekend and he is just thankful an opportunity came. I hope I speak for a large population by saying Good Luck, John!
Re: free agentsTennessee has been kind to SMU the past couple of years. Hopefully John will catch on there.
Kurt Basically, I'm a badass.
Re: free agentsHopefully Hamp will make the team and Kevin Aldridge will get off the practice squad, or whatever they call it. Two Ponies on the same team - good luck, fellas!

Re: free agentsSome others who are familiar to fans in this part of the world:
Ex-Baylor WR Reggie Newhouse signed with the Arizona Cardinals Ex-Oklahoma WR Antwone Savage signed with the Arizona Cardinals Ex-Texas Tech LB Lawrence Flugence signed with the Carolina Panthers Ex-Colorado State RB Cecil Sapp signed with the Denver Broncos Ex-LaTech RB Joe Smith signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars QB Josh Blankenship (isn't he the one from Tulsa?) signed with the Miami Dolphins Ex-Kansas WR Byron Gasaway signed with the Philadelphia Eagles Ex-Nebraska RB Dahrran Diedrick signed with the San Diego Chargers Ex-TCU LB LaMarcus McDonald signed with the San Diego Chargers Fewer than half the NFL teams announced their free-agent signings, so there should be more familiar names out tomorrow or the next day.
Re: free agentsCongratulations John!
Somehow I assume he'll attach himself to Frank Wychek the minute he gets to Tennessee. Not a bad guy to learn from.
