Lock Up Sonny for 5 Years
Ponies better lock up Sonny before it's too late. Out of ALL the coaches since the DP, Sonny is the BEST I've seen. Passion for his players is very key.
Go Ponies!

Good Texan. Honest, excited, genuine, and I really think he likes SMU. I think his wife likes the schools the kids go to and that they can walk to class.
Pay him for sure but, not if he does not want to stay.

Pay him more even if he doesn't want to stay. Just make the buy-out go up too...

That would seem to be a great deal for both Sonny, his family and the SMU family. He is a good man and a good coach. Live at 24th and Slide or In Highland Park.
Bottom line is he can put his stamp on this program till he retires. Happy, wealthy, and with nice people he gets to know here.
Maybe he buys a ranch out Snyder way or maybe up near Quanah.
Peace to all.
BEAT houston.

This would be great, but I'm skeptical our admin is this forward looking and seems rather to always be reacting and chasing its own tail. Hope I'm wrong.

I would imagine that unless we can sneak into the ACC or Pac12 Sonny will bolt. I wouldn't want to coach in the new AAC...

Only caveat is the easy path to the new playoffs but yes that's about it.
