Deion SandersIf Sonny leaves, I would like to see Coach Prime hired as our next coach with Rashad Samples as the top assistant. They would be the best recruiters in the country. Deion is perfect for Dallas and would truly make us all of Dallas’ team. We would get a ton of great media coverage as well. Deion just took JSU to a championship. That’s how we become even more nationally relevant and take this to the next level becoming the modern day Miami style football program.
Re: Deion SandersWhen Deion got hired there, he claimed he wanted to make a difference for Historically Black Colleges & Universities and make them destinations for talented athletes to make them their first choice. If he leaves this soon, he’s a huge fraud.
Re: Deion SandersSanders is also able to recruit players who with all due respect would not come close to qualifying academically
Re: Deion SandersUhh, no please...
Charlie Waters...Rick Neuheisel...Terry Bowden...a train-wreck former UT QB hybrid of the last two...... Wait for someone with the right chops...and no Mangino memes. stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
Re: Deion SandersI'm open to Prime depending on who else is "the list".
Hiring Prime would be headline national news. Probably great recruiting & constant media attention...he does have huge Dallas ties. Hiring Prime is also a huge risk....I doubt Turner/Hart will take that risk. But we do need to think unconventional. Hiring a young guy that becomes successful odds say he's gone soon. Hiring a re-tread like Patterson makes ya wonder if there is gas still in tank. It's all a crap-shoot....look at all the massive love Sonny had...and now?....lol C-ya @ Milos!
Re: Deion Sanders
Great points! TCU’s star running back tweeted that “they” wanted Deion. Our players will get more lucrative NIL deals with Deion.
Re: Deion SandersStep away from the alkeehal.
Re: Deion Sanders
Where do you believe that Deion and Samples would rate recruiting wise? Would we increase or decrease our ability to get top players from a statistical perspective? Would we get more or less media coverage? Will we have a greater chance to become inclusive of the entire Dallas population within our fan base ?
Re: Deion SandersIt’s never worked.
Re: Deion Sanders
How would you respond to the above questions?
Re: Deion SandersThis would be kind of like implementing the SMU football version of Memphis' basketball's Penny Hardaway
Re: Deion Sanders
Yes.
Re: Deion Sanders
Deion would need strong a OC & DC and I agree he would need to hold onto Samples
