Samp is definitely going to do well wherever he goes.TidePony wrote:I can’t believe Sark isn’t going after Samp. More money for Samp and the SEC. Plus, he wouldn’t be working for a boss that’s a known liar.

IF he's the one spearheading the decommitting of players, seems like he's working for the perfect coach.TidePony wrote:I can’t believe Sark isn’t going after Samp. More money for Samp and the SEC. Plus, he wouldn’t be working for a boss that’s a known liar.

That is absolutely not true ponyboy. Sonny got a phenomenal offer, with everything he could ever want as part of it. TCU is overpaying to get Sonny. But Sonny is still making a mistake. The great thing is that the alumni have a great package for the next coaching staff.ponyboy wrote:Sonny got a seven year contract offer from us, but it did not contain non-financial items he considered necessary to seal the deal. One might guess it had to do with further facilities upgrades, but I’m not sure.
By the way, Lashlee’s already been recruiting certain members of Dykes’ SMU staff. One hopes that includes Samples.

Sonny is going to have a short leash. He’s replacing a legend at TCU.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Everybody at SMU and Lashlee better be reaching out to him and doing what they can to retain him. Have to believe he's a big part of having any hope of retaining the bulk of this year's recruiting class.Rebel10 wrote:Samp is definitely going to do well wherever he goes.TidePony wrote:I can’t believe Sark isn’t going after Samp. When?
Maybe they can [deleted] off both schools -- recruiting for TCU while employed by SMU, and then coaching for SMU while under contract to tcu.
If they signed before the game, were they empowered by 2 schools at once?

Contract Probably has a start date which could be later than signing date.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Worth also noting he will be a top 12 P5 paid coach (CGP was 9 at $7mm) and he will have 3.5x $$ for assistants.
