Fire Rick HartModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Fire Rick HartI assumed the same as CP. we want the Walmart fans which we had during the Pony Express days.
Long live Inez Perez!
Re: Fire Rick Hart
Yep...we want people NOT associated with SMU wearing that Triple D Pony shirt around town and coming out to Ford. There will be plenty of seats available for most games
Re: Fire Rick HartEarlier in the thread...please stop it with the utter nonsense and impossibility of a baseball team.
I was in that emergency meeting that was called where he announced how we had to cut men's track. And he cried doing it. So what other men's sport do you cut to bring back baseball? Swimming, soccer? Or add another women's team? You guys drive me crazy with this baseball [deleted].
Re: Fire Rick HartReferring to Jim Copeland in earlier post.
Re: Fire Rick HartIs there any possible scenario where Hart gets fired? We all agree that his performance sucks as an AD, but is this enough?
Re: Fire Rick Hart
His job is to be an AD. His performance sucks. What more do you need. Would you not be fired if your performance sucked? SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Fire Rick Hart
WTF! You people love telling on yourselves!
Re: Fire Rick HartDon't need free admission but family packages dirt cheap and finding a way to make the Boulevard more inclusive is the path to really becoming Dallas' college team...just like the Cowboys had to beg for fans before they became a playoff caliber team
Yeah, right, we need the Boulevard to include 5% Asians, 12% African Americans, 17% Hispanic, about 53% "whites", and maybe 1% Indian (Native Americans, Indigenous, etc). Then our football program will find life again. Is this somewhere near that word "woke" that I keep hearing?
WTF! You people love telling on yourselves!
Right! This is as out of left field as that post on the "Dallas Team" thread.
Re: Fire Rick Hart
Yes, that's the one I was referring to.
Re: Fire Rick Hart
To that end SMU needs to host a BBQ cook-off on the boulevard. Invite all of Dallas to show off their BBQ skills. I'm sure people would rally around that. Winners announced at halftime of the game. Tie it in to a game we wear the Dallas jerseys. Maybe even make it a recurring theme. Whenever we play Tulane have a cajun cook-off where the best gumbo, etouffee, etc. wins and winners are announced at halftime. Good food appeals to pretty much everyone so many would probably show up to taste the good food. Many would also show up to compete and bring along friends and family and stay for the game to find out who wins. It's not that complicated, we simply need to brainstorm ideas and put them to action.
Re: Fire Rick HartI like that bbq idea a lot. Great idea.
Re: Fire Rick HartDoepey was BAD, with long HIKES, 1.5 miles from the back of the Cotton Bowl parking with no
trams when there were additional attractions like the parrot guy with broken flip flops performing at the out door venue at the same time as the NAVY game as 1 example. Rick Hart was all over this from the first when, Sonny, the in love with his childhood sweetheart school guy wasn't denying he was flirting, and wanting to stray ![]() coach in record time, who gave us a 10 win offense, and Sonny got most of the credit ![]() May the forth be with us.
Re: Fire Rick Hart
Not until 76 year old Gerald Turner retires. C-ya @ Milos!
Re: Fire Rick HartIf we don’t have the bal#s to fire Hart, how do we help him get another job? How much does he make?
Re: Fire Rick HartSMU sports are doing as well as they ever have right now. How many other years can we say we’ve been ranked multiple weeks in football and been a probable tourney team in basketball? Serious question.
