It’s a business. Unfortunately TCU and their AD kicked outsmarted Hart and kicked our butts. Quit crying about how unfair everything is and direct the real blame with Hart. He couldn’t get it done and the team and fans must suffer the consequences.

We lost a 71–63 overall HC. Improved us a little bit over JJ.

Under JJ, we won bowl games.

Be fair now. Junebug never had to face the vaunted FAU Owls. Lol.Diamond Girl wrote:Under JJ, we won bowl games.

TCU let their legendary coach walk mid-season. Why? I don't know. SD now has to fill those shoes in a tougher conference. Instead of having 4-5 tough games per year, he'll have 9. He's going to have to recruit beyond what he recruited here to compete in the Big XII even the watered down Big XII. He lost to 2 of the 3 new members of the conference this year. He'll be facing ISU, KSU, OSU, Baylor and for a couple of years OU and UT. He's going to have to bring it or he won't last long. How many Coaches has UT had since Darrell Royal retired. He's got big boy pants, and made a decision that he thought was best for him. At this point, he has to sink or swim in purple.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Dykes' reputation is well-known.
"Taylor just finished the third year of a seven-year contract. He doesn’t chase jobs. He isn’t to be confused with Sonny Dykes, who seemingly looked at other gigs shortly after the ink dried on previous contracts. Taylor will ride this out."

So, it looks like if Sonny Dykes was a lawyer, he'd be an ambulance chaser.

May the forth be with us.

Getting Samples to come along was the key for Sonny. I think we will find Lashlee to be the better coach in the long run, but the college game is all about recruiting so we'll have to wait and see how our new coaching staff will compete on the trailindianmustang wrote:For Now Frogs seems to be winning with samples

Except that Diaz has been a defensive coach his entire career with most of that time spent as a DCindianmustang wrote:maybe he waiting for miami new coach and can make manny diaz ocCharleston Pony wrote:Getting Samples to come along was the key for Sonny. Sonny’s success here is, frankly, overblown. While I will always appreciate each win, there were very few to savor during the last few seasons. We beat the teams we were supposed to, but did not compete well with teams of equal or greater stature. Sure, we had TCU’s number, by and large, but we just didn’t play well against the top AAC teams.
This year is a perfect example. Other than UCF, we didn’t beat a team with a winning record. Four of our eight wins were against Bottom 25 programs–Navy, Tulane, USF and La. Tech (barely). The other 2 wins were against mediocre 6-6 UNT and 5-6 FBS Abilene Christian. We didn’t play well on the road again this year and the predictable November swoon was, well, predictable. Call it scheduling or whatever, but that’s not a reason, it’s an excuse. We never improved during the course of any season he coached.
I understand why TCU hired Dykes. He was successful against them. But those wins weren’t only because of him. Our team truly dislikes TCU and is motivated to beat them. Sonny will deliver about the same results at TCU as he did here: winning games at home against lesser opponents, struggling on the road, and fading as the season progresses. He won’t win conference championships for them.
I like our future more than TCU’s. Sure, we’re still in the AAC, but our young, motivated head coach and his staff will bring an intensity to practice and performance that Sonny couldn’t deliver. Moreover, TCU and we’ve been in difference conferences/divisions for years, and at present TCU has not separated itself from us.
TCU can continue to play an also-ran in a mediocre Big XII. Meanwhile, we have an excellent opportunity to continue our trend upward, make ourselves as an attractive addition to a P5 program, or at least have a better shot at winning AAC championships and building a more robust fan base.

Re: What the frogs bought.
I would suggest to you that any FBS 7-0 team will garner votes. Again, I'm not completely blowing off what Sonny did, but we underachieved, plain and simple.
