I'm no basketball expert but I have been a regular at Moody since the 60s. What I saw the other night looked like a neighborhood pickup game between shirts and skins. The coaching that I saw during the Brown days is certainly a thing of the past. I have questions about this talent, but I see no success in teaching them to play cohesively. They also seem rather slight of build. I don't see us competing well with larger or more physical teams. Our guys seem to get pushed around a lot.

Spot on.
Larry Brown did more for the university in 4 years than Turner has done in 25.
He had a significant impact on perception of SMU, morale of the alumni base, student spirit, fundraising, community engagement, and his efforts were the lead-in to the football success that we saw over the last few years.
Turner and Hart should have had his back. They chose to instead throw him under the bus. Sad.
I would walk through places in Arkansas and people would see my SMU gear and smile and say ΓÇ£Larry BrownΓÇ¥ just as they used to do with ΓÇ£Pony Express!ΓÇ¥

Little Ricky has to go.
lil rickey didn't let him go - he ran him off with absurd conditions in his new contract. this was done on purpose as he and rgt knew how LB would react.
Just curious....is there any good vibes after beating UNLV/Vandy? I have no feel for whether or not those are considered decent wins or are completely meh.

UNLV is expected to be a middle of the pack MWC team and Vandy the same in the SEC, but considering the teams SMU usually is able to attract to Moody they were at least "name" opponents and should be considered good wins...just not the kind of wins that are going to help SMU get post season consideration. Our guys will have to finish in the top 4 in AAC play to have any hope of any NCAA bid but will probably need to win the AAC Tourney. Difficult to say how early season woes will be viewed by the committee because so many teams have completely rebuilt rosters and have been playing very inconsistently in the early part of this season

Those are filler wins. At this point we don't have any remaining games in the non-conference schedule that would be considered signature wins. We must win them all and then do very well in conference play, finishing in the top 3-4 with a signature win over Houston. Otherwise NIT or nothing.
