I know ut is putting up $10M per, but how does our $1M compare to other schools? namely our conference, tcu, and other big12? I tried to search but couldn't really find anything.

It is going to be difficult to add this up. This is one prong in a fork of NIL money. There are two hot chicken companies, I think Jack in the Box and others already paying NIL. This is just more.
ACC is where SMU fits.
Maybe not today but soon. Academics and honestly.... The ACC needs to recruit Texas.

Okay but are we sure we are anywhere near the ACCΓÇÖs wishlist? They are already at 14 teams I believe so if they expand they add what 2 teams? Surely one of those would be Notre Dame. Are we anywhere near good enough to be the next one up after Notre Dame?

WE are pretty good and open up texas for recruiting. What else does that? Houston, Rice, tcwho, Baylor.... who would go from above?
Just my 2 cents. I have no power or knowledge to make anything happen.

SMU and Tulane would be good ACC additions academically and athletically. They open up Texas and Louisiana. I know the ACC wet dreams for Notre Dame as does the Big 1G for football. ND will never give up its independence in football. Has its own TV deal, own Bowl deal, and shares other sports with ACC. ND would be the pain in the rear conference mate that Texas has been. Always threatening to leave and asking for more of the pie.

Great News
The more they can incorporate DallasΓÇÖ businesses the better.
Dallas Fortune 500 revenues - $1T+, Dallas DMA 5
Waco Fortune 500 revenues $0, Waco DMA 83
Lubbock Fortune 500 revenues - $0, Lubbock DMA 145
The largest employers in Waco and Lubbock are Baylor and Texas Tech.

Like I said. IF... business, logic and money move this league, I could see SMU ( and Tulane) changing.
Good points about the business VALUE of these cities.
And Hail to the Rhett and the Blue... TEE shirt!

really glad to see some of our 'greats' like ED and Beachum stepping up to help. Need others like Craig J., and many of those WRs who are now in the NFL to help and make us more competitive in winning top players with our NIL
Re: SMU alumni group to donate $1 million annually to NIL
They donΓÇÖt necessarily have to make this public but I sure hope they invite Sherwood Blount back to help the school as a member of this group.

Let's not forget the Hunts, Irsays as well. A few billionaires in the mix could make the pot really right. One thing I know, we have and can outspend UT.

So is this money going straight to players or is there a bunch of bs overhead involved. Seems a little shady based on the article, could be a scheme

Beach and Butler are involved. It isn't a scheme.
