Temple has 17 offensive boards allowing them to take 16 more shots than our guys. They made 4 more threes than we did and our guys had 15 turnovers. Really impressive to come out with a win with those kind of stats

The old Matt Doherty stat was key with SMU making more FTs (17) than Temple shot (15)

Great to see this team win when KD is not at his best. He had 4 assists vs 6 turnovers and no rebounds today which is a credit to how hard Temple played him

Just back home from the game.

Very nice win and I must say, that is the loudest Moody has been in a while. Was an enthusiastic and salty crowd.

Just think, if we can take care of business and beat Wichita twice over the next week, that Wednesday game at home against Houston will be electric, that will be Moody Magic.

Lets buckle down and take care of these Shockers.

Go Ponies!

Temple is a team to watch. They have a bunch of talented freshmen and play with tenacity.

Wichita State just lost by one at Tulane. Head to SMU on Thursday after playing Tulsa at home on Tuesday night. Then, they host the Ponies next Saturday. It's nice to have that extra Tulsa game to tire them out a bit more.

Houston on Wednesday, February 9 at Moody at 6:00.

It’s gonna be tough to take back to backs against any team in this conference with the possible exception of USF.

I like this team.

SMU dropped from 50 to 55 despite winning by 8. If you don't realize Temple has bad metrics there is not much else to say.

One reason Temple had a lot more offensive rebounds than we did was that they missed 43 shots, we only missed 26. So they missed 43, got 17 back, we missed 26 and got 8 back. We also blocked 10 shots - 7 in the first half which was pretty amazing. Excellent win, but KD needs to get away from trying to do too much by himself against good teams - it won't work.

Davis only played 29 minutes. Temple was smart enough to guard him with a much taller man and the refs were letting Temple play Big East style which led to frustration and two early fouls. Marcus Weathers took over the game at one point. Great performance on his part. I have heard the announcers say that Jank has some pretty firm ideas about how to deal with guys who are in foul trouble. I rarely see an SMU player foul out.

It was an innocent question, friend.

By the way, I just posted the same thing in another thread, about us dropping to 55 despite the win.

They are still a solid team and we could easily lose to them in Philadelphia. Unfortunately Jankovich did us no favors with a horrendous non-conference schedule and now the AAC being mediocre this year is not much help. We pretty much have to win all of them with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions. The unfortunate thing is that Tulane and Temple are much better than the numbers show due to atrocious to mediocre non-conference results.
